I have always loved catching fleeting moments of vulnerability whether it’s of joy, reflection or even the mundane.  My photographs gravitate towards simplicity of composition.  Reflecting on the seemingly unremarkable reveals something in the subject, their story and beauty.   It’s in those moments we seem to be the most human both as a viewer and subject.

Bio:

Due to my father’s service in the U.S military,  I had a unique experience of growing up in a multicultural environment with a Japanese mother.  My formative years were abroad in Germany but settled in Philadelphia to attend high school.

I earned a BFA from Syracuse University and an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  Moved to NYC and started working in the service industry and eventually the film industry as a still photographer.  Currently living in Brooklyn with my lovely hound Hoagie.
