I started experimenting with scanner photography (scanography) earlier in the year due to chronic pain making it difficult to shoot images with my heavy DSLR camera and lenses. I was looking for a way to continue creating still life and portrait photography and discovered that scanography beautifully captures the dream-like mood that I am always looking for in my photography. This series of prints features my favorite props: butterflies and flowers. The addition of my hands helps to convey both the nurturing and destructive human interaction with nature.
